To Better Serve the Ambitious Climate Plans, Verra Launched Public Consultation on the VCS Program

On February 6th, Verra, the developer of Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program, the world’s most widely used greenhouse gas (GHG) crediting program, formally launched a public consultation to inform its future improvement.

In the course of idea-exchanging, Verra seeks to identify big-picture priorities with the help of stakeholders and adjust the VCS Program to better serve the ambitious climate plans.

EU is Proposing Rigorous CO2 Emissions Target in Automobile Sector: European Green Deal

On Feb 14th, the European Commission proposed ambitious new CO2 emissions targets for new heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs) from 2030 onwards. These targets will help to reduce CO2 emissions in the transport sector - trucks, city buses, and long-distance buses are responsible for over 6% of total EU greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and more than 25% of GHG emissions from road transport.
