Animal Manure Management System projects can achieve emission avoidance with application of a variety of practices, including methane capture, nutrition management, and land application, etc.

Animal waste could produce significant amounts of methane. Methane can be captured by using anaerobic digesters, which are systems that break down manure in an oxygen-free environment and collect the resulting methane gas.

Animal waste could also be applied to nurture soil. By using treated animal manure as a fertilizer instead of synthetic fertilizers, farmers can reduce nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions, which is a common side product of synthetic fertilizers and one essential type of Greenhouse Gas

By supporting these projects, we may benefit a range of stakeholders, especially farmers in developing regions.
